The coordinates will take you to the Rockport Lower Landing. It was
on this spot in 1828 that Abraham Lincoln and Allen Gentry
constructed and then rode a flatboat down the Ohio and Mississippi
Rivers. The boat was loaded with goods that had been aquired in
trade by Allen's father James. The trip probably gave Lincoln his
first up close and personal experience with slavery as it existed
in the deep south. The cache contains a log only so bring your own
writing instrument.
