This is one of a series of
caches on the Gabriel's Gully walking track.
A well formed and
maintained loop track traverses around a large part of the historic
gold field. Allow at least 90 minutes to complete the loop track
and gather the 6 caches on route.
Managing the valuable
water resource and keeping it flowing for the miners was the job of
the Racemen. The raceman and his family had to live in cottages
like in the photo often well away from the main mining
activity.
The cache is a 200ml
sistema container and was placed during the 150th Anniversary of
Gabriel's Gully.
