Point



The Most Easterly
Point In Northern Ireland



 

 

Burr Point is the easternmost point of mainland Northern Ireland, and the easternmost point of mainland Ireland. It is located in the townland of Ballyhalbert on the Ards Peninsula in County Down. It is 2 km southeast of the village of Ballyhalbert.[1]

The most easterly point is Big Bow Meel Island, which is a rock situated 900 metres off the Ards Peninsula, County Down.

The Cache

The Cache itself is a 35mm film canister and is hidden at the end of the harbour, there are some houses close by so please be respectful and discreit. You will not need to enter private property to retrieve the cache. Most of the site is wheelchair accesible but the last few feet to the cache may cause a problem to wheelchair users.
