Geocache Description:

The published co-ordinates are for the FAST Museum, where there is also parking

"FAST" is The Farnborough Air Sciences Trust. It was formed in November 1993 to save the Farnborough's historic Main Factory Site from wholesale demolition and continues to work to safeguard Farnborough's significant contribution to aviation throughout the 20th Century.

It is also an interesting place to visit for all the family. Apart from the fighter jets that can be seen from the road, there is a large indoor exhibition dedicated to Samuel Franklin Cody

In the main building there is a shop and many interesting exhibits plus a chance to play a computer aircraft dog-fighting game from within the cockpit of a fighter.

But it it is the aircraft outside, many sporting the Royal Aircraft Establishment colours, that are required to find the cache.

You have a choice to do this the FAST way (by visiting the FAST Museum and using the GPS co-ordinates and/or pictures given) or the Furious way (by doing it as a puzzle).

Either way, I would encourage you visit the museum, especially if you have children. Entry is FREE and it is open Saturdays and Sundays 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Identify the aircraft and for each letter take the tail number:-

A) N 51 16.938 W 000 45.193 - Is it a car, is it a plane?
B) N 51 16.920 W 000 45.211 - I counted them all out....
C) N 51 16.964 W 000 45.210 - Greased?
D) N 51 16.955 W 000 45.195 - Jack & Diane (by another name)
E) N 51 16.946 W 000 45.198 - 12 March 1913
F) N 51 16.951 W 000 45.193 - Rod’s second wife, take lowest of the two on display
G) N 51 16.943 W 000 45.192 - A Ghost of ...

Cache is located at ...
N 51 16.[2(C - D + E) + B - F - A - 8]
W 000 45.[A - G + 10]

One of the aircraft on display is missing it's tail so if you haven't found the page on the FAST website where all the tail numbers are given, the number you will need for this one is 309.

If the aircraft on the FAST website has no tail number given, then it is not required for this cache.

For F there are now two specimens but at the moment the FAST website lists only one and not the one you need. However the other one, the one you need is shown in the Slideshow
