We are setting up this trail of caches giving you our version of a geocaching expedition. Along the way we will tell you some interesting information about the Lewis & Clark expedition. You will be going into the Hells Gate State Park where there is a Lewis & Clark Discovery Center where you can learn even more and visit a nice place here in the L/C Valley.
To the Pacific,
The pace of travel now quickens as the company takes to
the water once again-this time with the current at their
backs. Within three days, they reach the convergence
of the Clearwater and Snake rivers. (That's us!) Within a
month, they are close to the mouth of the Columbia River, although it takes them another three weeks to actually view the
pacific Ocean beacause of harsh weather. After wintering
over on the coaset, the Corps will pass this way again on
their way home. In September of 1806, they return to
St.Louis, completing their monumental journey.
