Geocache Description:

The Caching Bird - MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 PEOPLE TO CATCH THE CACHING BIRD. (Aswell as some good hearing).

The co-ordinates will take you to that start of the hunt to find this rare bird.

At the first stage please only press the button do not try to take it off. this will give you the means to be able to locate the rare bird.

__________________________________________________________________

Follow the path from the road following the riverside past the tree with no branches on your left, carry on until the 'T' junction bear left up the slight hill. Carry along the path. You will see the gate out of the wood in front of you but turn left about 20 metres before it. Go straight until you see the fence and look around the trees in a small "clearing"

The caching bird is best located in the wooded area between Alnwick and Denwick on a public footpath.

Best place to park is at the layby where the Alnwick travel bug hotel is located and walk across the bridge towards the wood. Remember to take your scenic photos of the castle from the bridge.

There is a hedwig travelbug for FTF.

There is a footpath but please be careful with geokids and hounds as the road can get very busy. (unfortunately cache is unsuitable for push chairs and wheelchairs.)

On rainy days and winter months you will need wellies.

Once you've found the cache and replaced it please make sure that you can still hear it. Thanks.

NO BIRDS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS CACHE :)
