How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The Cake Series is a set of 19 caches over a distance of 3.5 miles, placed around the bridleways of Eastbury.
The Cache and Cake Club was set up in October 2010 by a group of Mums who liked to go caching and then recover with cake in nearby coffee shops! We meet at least once a week for caching, chat and cake. Between the three of us, we have found over 5000 caches and placed nearly 100 caches. This is our first series under the collective name of The Cache and Cake Club.
The walk starts and ends in the village of Eastbury. Parking can be found close to the church. The caches are placed along well marked bridleways and byways. Please note that the byways can be very muddy so appropriate footwear should be worn. The route is very dog friendly; our 4 legged friend had a lot of fun when we placed the series. We have tried to make the route as child friendly as possible by placing the caches as close together as we could. It is possible to walk the series with a buggy, though it is recommended that you use a very good off-roading one as some of the paths aren’t particularly smooth. There aren’t any stiles or gates to negotiate over the series.
All the caches are ‘small’ or ‘regular’ and hidden in a variety of ways. The caches are well stocked and all contained a pen or pencil at the time of placing.
We hope you enjoy the series.
A special thanks to Bones1 for doing a spot of cache maintenance on this hide.
