Puzzle changed 26 July 2017 - For those who'd already solved the puzzle before this date, the good news is that you don't need to do much to get to the new answer. All anagrams are the same, and all I've had to do is swap over the answers to C and F. So from the old answer, you can simply swap your very final digits for North and West to get to the new answer.
Cache relocated very slightly again 8 Oct 2017 - Rather than keep messing with the puzzle, I've made the hint even more explicit. Both the originally published solution, or the revised version from July 2017, take you very near to an obvious feature. Either explore the options there, or read the hint for an explicit pointer, as you prefer!
First you need to solve these anagrams of major world cities:
Bad upset
Ha Ha sign
One rumble
Easier bonus
Shin like
Mad master
Real bacon
Near crab
Now list the four that are in Europe in alphabetical order as cities 1 to 4, and then answer these questions about them to find the values A to F:
A = no of letters in the country where city 2 is located
B = no of letters in the river running through city 1
C = no of times the letter U occurs in the four city names
D = no of letters in city 4
E = no of letters in city 2
F = no of letters in the river running through city 3
The cache is hidden at the following coordinates, within 100m of a convenient lay-by:
N 53 15.ABC W 002 22.DEF
