Cobram Regional Park 3 - The Start!
Welcome to my 38th cache hide... This is the third in the series so far, of a series that will extend all the way up to Tocumwal on the Victorian side of the Murray River. It is possible to drive along the river tracks to all of these caches that will be placed on the beaches on the Victorian side, but depending on local conditions at the time, a 4WD may be required.
I have sort of started the series a bit backward, this being the third listed, but the logical starting point for the entire series. You can reach this cache by driving along Wondah Street in Cobram, over the Levy bank and all the way to the end. You will then be in the Cobram Regioinal Park.
A little bit of info: The Cobram Regional Park is 511 hectares in size and is listed as a River Redgum Reserve. Camping is permitted.
I found this large tree stump and log looking for a nice view of the river to place the cache. The only spot with a view of the river had a camper, so i avoided that spot. I have uploaded a photo so you can see the lagoon formation behind the cache location. This is from the drought breaking rains of the end of 2010 and start of 2011.
The cache is a 1 liter Sistema container and is an easy find. This cache is about the location and showing people some of the beautiful spots in this area.
