BRING A COMPASS AND PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY NEAR THE CACHE!!!
Short quarter mile walk on 2 terrain. Rated 3 terrain due to small
uphill bushwack at the very end and one very small creek crossing
near parking. Stay on the trail until you get to the little side
trail 150 ft or so from cache. It is obvious. No need to bushwack
to the tree from the main trail.
Gentjack, the Boxerlady duo, and myself were visiting one of my
other hiking/waterfall caches in the area (Cochran Creek's Hidden
Treasure GC2NPJ3) when Boxerlady mentioned a special find of theirs
on my Bearden Creek's Hidden Treasure hike. This tree find of
theirs was very intriguing to both Gentjack and myself as we are
definitely tree junkies. Well Gentjack had not been to Bearden
Creek's Hidden Treasure yet so we decided to add another hike in
our day.
On our way to the waterfall, we found the little side road off our
path and walked the 150 feet or so to the tree. As we get closer we
just can't believe what we are seeing. In both of our travels, we
have never seen anything quite like it. Of course Gentjack says,
"This is definitely cache worthy!!!". So we placed one.
Satellite reception was not great in the area for us. So the posted
coords will take you to the tree. You will know the tree. From
the nose of the tree, go 25-30 paces at 150 degrees to find the
cache.
Congrats Boxerlady Crew on
FTF!!!!
Small note: As required by the USFS for caches hidden in the
Chattahoochee National Forest the cache is prominantly labeled as a
geocache and the label includes the GC2QVQ9 waypoint number and the
owner's e-mail address. Enjoy!
