Geocache Description:

After the It's Great to See DST! event on March 12, behmSquad logged his 2000th find at Wetlands, a 5-stage multi-cache by the legendary stachetracker. It was my privilege to be along for this milestone and for the pretty awesome caching day that followed.

Congratulations behmSquad!

To celebrate behmSquad's 2000th find, and in honor of his famous challenge cache, Take Time to Give Back: The CITO Challenge, come join the Arlington Heights Park District for Clean Up The Parks Week!

PLEASE NOTE: AHPD NEEDS A GOOD COUNT IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE PROPER NUMBER OF GLOVES. WHEN YOU POST YOUR "WILL ATTEND" LOG, PLEASE INDICATE THE NUMBER OF ADULTS AND CHILDREN ATTENDING.

DATE & TIME:
Saturday, May 7, 2011

Check-In: 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. -- if you're coming from the Cricket Creek CITO, just get here when you can!
CITO: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

LOCATION:
Recreation Park
500 East Miner
Arlington Heights, IL 60004

Located in one of the older neighborhoods in the downtown area, Recreation Park is the oldest community park in Arlington Heights with large mature trees and other significant landscaping.

The park, which has expanded in recent years with the acquisition of adjacent properties, experiences significant usage by residents from all areas of the community because it is home to the District's premier baseball diamond as well as the annual Frontier Days Festival. Recreation Park is also home to the Park District's oldest community center, built in 1937 as a WPA project.

PARKING:
There should be ample parking on the east side of the park on Douglas Ave and in the parking lot north of the baseball field (N 42° 05.007 W 087° 58.547). Please note two things: Park District officials warn that, if there's a baseball game going on, cars parked in the lot could be hit by a foul ball. Also, the Google Maps satellite imagery of the park shows the park set up for Frontier Days. The large white tent that is shown in the parking lot will not be there.

REGISTRATION:
Check in at the posted coordinates between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m.
Sign the logbook and enter the drawing for fabulous prizes.
Put this cache on your watchlist for updates between now and the day of the event.
