Geocache Description:

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside,
Oh I do like to be beside the sea!
But I live in Oxfordshire, and can’t always travel that far,
to be beside the seaside, or near a sea!

This absolutely stunning (in my opinion) location needs a cache nearby, and even though it has been washed away by floods twice, I'm determined that it stay here, as it really is a great place to come and discover!

Its designed to help people get away from it all really, there are a least 3 “beaches” within 100m that can be enjoyed if you really explore the whole area! I highly recommend having a good look around, and take a moment to enjoy the roar of the water...

Do watch out for both Cows and Geese, and over-excited (possibly wet) Dogs!

The terrain has been set as a 3 but it is manageable, which accounts for when the tide is high or the fields are flooded. There is also an easy and a hard way to get here:

South of the cache: There is limited parking near Sandford Lock.
(Previously: due to the heavy rain in May 2012, the bridge is totally out, so a brief detour was required)
This is now not the case, as a wonderfully heavy duty new bridge has been put in place! [See picture]

North of the cache: My favourite route but is massively unnecessary and boosts the terrain up to 3. Follow the Thames path all the way, keeping all of the water closely to your left, over bumpy fields, through a woody path right up to the edge of the roaring weir, then follow it down a small slope and over a stream, go out to the clearing here and your GPS will work again! *Not passable during heavy rain or soon after*

The initial contents were; Logbook and pen, toys for kids of all ages, inflatable, crayons and camera.

New contents and as way of apology for the delay in getting this up and running again: Logbook and pen, mini chess set, micro cache ready to use, and a T-shirt Iron-on trackable code.
*This is NOT yet a trackable and is a gift for the next person to find the cache! Instructions included*

PLEASE place the cache AND its intentionally wedged 'flage EXACTLY as you find it. This will prevent High Waters and Hoodlums from removing it (I hope!!)
