Geocache Description:

The thrill of the hunt takes you to Salem Cemetery, and might give you more than you were bargaining for. (Cue creepy organ music)

In the early 1850s, the Salem United Brethren Church founded this cemetery. The church is long gone, and the graves of the original internees are in pretty sad shape. Based on the way the land looks, there are probably twice as many burials as there are stones. Time, neglect, and vandalism have taken their toll. Still, this little cemetery retains an air of peace. Maybe it's the manicured golf course next door.

There's a small patch of gravel next to the gate for parking. Take some time to look around - lots of interesting markers. If you see an American flag on the ground, pop it back in the ground. (There are vets from 1812 and the Civil War buried here.) Watch out for muggles at the golf hole right across the fence.

Cache is a black spice container. Please replace cammo, and no night caching.
