Greytown (now known as South End) was once a small shipping port actively linking land and sea In the late 1860's Franz Bevilaqua (a resident of Greytown) decided there needed to be a better road between Millicent and Greytown He was the main instigator in building a ford on the old Greytown road through a section of boggy teatree south of Lake Frome The crossing included a drain and a bridge, which was built at a later date The 1st train engine to arrive in Millicent... once off loaded from the boat at Greytown... travelled this route by bullock wagon Today it is still known as Bevilaqua Ford and is one of the main access points to the Canunda National Park What a shame the old wooden bridge of our childhood days is no longer standing....!!!! From here... all you 4 wheel driving cachers would have an enjoyable time driving over to the coast..... bearing in mind the regulations of driving in a National Park Take time to browse the info board......and to find our cache....of course...! Happy caching..!!!!
