Stanley Respite Traditional Cache
erik88l-r: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. You will find that this location provides a surprise vista and a pleasant respite from the weekend madness of Stanley Market. Grab a friend and a refreshment, then enjoy the setting. It is wheelchair accessible during business hours.
During the day this cache is very suitable for small children. The more adventurous will find the search especially fun after dark. This location is suited for trading trackable items as many world travelers pass through this market every day. The container is a Super brand, waterproof, locking, rectangular prism (approximately 1 L, 195×125×70 mm.) It is painted to match its surroundings. Original contents include: first finder's certificate, cache note, trading items, log book, pencil, pencil sharpener and three trackable items.
STEALTH IS REQUIRED! Once you find the cache, try not to give away the location of the cache. Do this by moving away from the hiding place. This way if a person observes you while trading trinkets and signing the logbook, and becomes curious, they cannot return later and easily find the hiding spot. Geocachers work hard to not make known that a geocache exists in a specific place. We hide the caches! Hiding the geocache by the owner is often not enough. The actions of those searching for a cache can give away the location of the geocache. Try to not be observed when hunting, locating, retrieving, and replacing any geocache.
Sixty-one geocachers and their friends enjoyed finding the original Stanley Respite geocache before it was plundered and removed in late December of 2011. The cache was reestablished January 02, 2012. The new cache box is smaller to facilitate better concealment. The original container was 1.85 L, 195×125×118 mm.
