Fr: Ce parc paysager public du centre-ville est situé sur un ancien bras de Meuse, la rivière d'Avroy, qui fut comblée en 1835 pour faire place à une plantation d'arbres. Il fut ensuite doté d'un square en 1868 puis étendu en 1880 pour acquérir ses dimensions actuelles. Il comprend un étang, un kiosque à musique (1852) et plusieurs monuments et statues. De nombreux chemins parcourent ses grandes pelouses plantées de bosquets.
Quelques beaux arbres s'y déploient : cèdre du Liban, cyprès chauve, hêtre pleureur, noisetier de Byzance, arbre de Judée ainsi qu'un bel alignement de platanes. (c) OPT Une jolie multi en centre ville ça vous dit? Il faudra rendre visite à Charlemagne puis faire le tour de l'étang, approcher le bout du parc du côté 'Guillemins' puis contourner cet étang de l'autre côté pour vous retrouver sur les terrasses.
Il est même possible que quelqu'un vous interpelle pour vous demander 'As veyou l'toré'. C'est à ce moment, je crois, que vous avez tous les éléments pour trouver la cache. Même en octobre pendant la Foire, tous les points sont accessibles où marchants et manèges se partagent l'espace avec un tout autre aspect!
La promenade est simple et pourrait déjà être commencée virtuellement, si pas résolue sur internet, mais je vous propose ce petit tour de ~2.5km dans ce principal parc Liégeois!
EN: Liege - Park Avroy This public landscaped park of downtown is located on a former branch of the Meuse, the Avroy river, which was filled in 1835 to make way for a tree planting. It was built around a square in 1868 and expanded in 1880 to its present size. It includes a pond, a bandstand (1852) and several monuments and statues. Many roads run through its large lawns and coppices.
Some beautiful trees here: cedar of Lebanon, bald cypress, weeping beech, hazel, Judas tree, and a good alignment of trees.(c) OPT. A nice multi downtown anyone? You will visit Charlemagne then go around the lake, approaching the end of the park on the side 'Guillemins' and around this pond on the other side to find yourself on the terraces.
It is even possible that someone calls you asking you to 'As veyou l'toré'. That's when I think you have all the elements to find the cache. Even in October during the fair, all points are available and you will walk and ride attractions to share space with a different aspect! The walk is easy and could already be started virtually, if not resolved on the internet, but I offer this small trip ~2.5km in the main park 'Liégeois'!
