The container is a converted micro cache which fits in well with the nature of the activity in the area, although it depends on your handicap. You don't need to deviate from the public footpath, or interfere with the golf course in any way to retrieve this cache.
Depending on the time of year, a pair of gloves might be a sensible thing to take with you to retrieve this one. Please replace the container out of sight.
When logging *please* play along and don't give the game away. It's not hard to figure it out but it's more fun to find if you don't know quite what you're looking for.
Access
This location is an easy, flat walk from Cheltenham Road East in Churchdown, starting from the signed footpath behind the car dealer. There is a small lay-by near here with limited parking. The car dealer doesn't bite, but please don't treat his forecourt as a public car park!
There is a spot to pull in right next to ground zero, for a cache and dash. We don't recommend leaving you car here, and please don't block the gate.
There are no albatrosses here
The name is a clue, and is a sporting, rather than an ornithological reference.
While you're here
Why not visit GC2FQ2R (Owl's Nest, our easy multi-cache). GC2FPXA (You Talkin' To Me?) is also nearby.
I'm sure I've seen this before...?
The original "Albatross", now archived, was hidden by Old Spotty, before being transferred to 10538. Thanks to both for the idea, and their work maintaining the cache.
This cache is Old Spotty's original container, so if you've found a cache here before, then the container will be no surprise to you. Why not take a walk to this location again though?
