Drayton Fields Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Carpfisher: I have spoken to someone on site at this development and can not predict when it will be available. Covid is being blamed for holding up the work. The temporary closure notice on the bridleway seems to have expired and has not been extended or renewed, so, I suppose I could fight this through the council. However, seeing the new roads that have been put in I feel it unlikely that this lovely bridleway will ever be returned to it's former peace and tranquillity and so have decided to Archive it and retrieve the container as soon as I can get access. I am also going to Archive the rest of my Caches at the end of next month as I feel I can no longer give the time to maintain them. If anybody wants to adopt them please get in touch by email.

Geocache Description:

Although this walk is alongside Heartlands industrial estate the walk, across the fields and along the bridleway itself is quite pleasant, particularly at weekends when there is little or no activity from the warehousing.

This cache is located along the bridleway that runs behind Heartlands Industrial Estate and there is parking nearby. You can park where a proposed new road junction has been built about 20 meters from the start of the walk in.

Start the walk at N52° 16.648’ W01° 10.607’ by following the path up the slope. At the top turn to your left over the old railway bridge and follow your GPS. The first part of the walk, just after the bridge, can be muddy for a few meters after wet weather so wear sensible footwear. The Mud can usually be skirted unless it has been very wet.

The walk in is about 1km and is usually full of wildlife. There are plenty of Rabbits about and I have also seen Foxes and Muntjac, or Barking, deer in the evenings and if you are lucky you may see Buzzards.
Enjoy.

An alternative, shorter walk in would be from the A45, but there is no convenient parking here.

Not really a micro, but not big enough to include any "treasure"

Don’t forget to bring a pen!
