Geocache Description:

The Very Top of Tara Hill Co. Wexford. Great view of the sea at the moment as a lot of the tree have been fallen.
Parking: When leaving Tara Hill Church on your right, travel 200m and you will come to the entrance gate of Coillte Wood on your right hand side. It's an hour walk return from the bottom

Due to its height relative to the surrounding landscape this hill qualifies as a Marilyn. It should not be confused with the much better known but much less prominent Royal Hill of Tara in County Meath, which is only 159m high.

The summit is marked by a cairn from where one can see nearby Gorey, Courtown and other villages and town-lands and views of the North Wexford coast.

A Marilyn is a mountain or hill in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland or Isle of Man with a prominence of at least 150 metres (492 ft), regardless of absolute height or other merit. The name was coined as a punning contrast to the designation Munro, used of a Scottish mountain with a height of more than 3,000 feet (914.4 m), which is homophonous with (Marilyn) Monroe.
