About the film:
THE SEVEN-UPS , made in 1973, refers to a secret, elite New York
detective squad who are very effective in catching criminals. The
term “Seven-Ups” refers to the minimum jail time each
of the crooks will have to spend if they are caught by them.
Unfortunately, because of their questionable tactics, a loan shark
kidnapping scheme where the kidnappers pose as cops turns the rest
of the legitimate police against them. And one of their own is
killed during the investigation, the squad must not only has to
find the those responsible but clear their name as well. This
movie, released just one year after a very successful run of
“The French Connection” also boasted itself as having
Gene Hackman’s co-star , Roy Scheider and an even better car
chase sequence.
