Geocache Description:

Victoria Clock Tower. Ripon, Yorkshire,

The clock tower was built to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897 and was officially 'opened' at a ceremony attended by the mayor, local dignitaries, a brass band and a large crowd of Ripon's citizens in 1898. The building of the clock tower was entirely funded by two sisters, the Misses Cross.
