This geocache has been placed near a picnic spot on one of our favourite walk. Container has been enlarged slightly and will now hold small TBs and coins. Please ensure it is well hidden when replacing.
Betsy’s Bridge is a nickname we have for the improvised bridge over the River Meavy at this point. We named after a family dog who didn’t like to cross it!
A suggested route for this cache would be to park at N 50 30.455, W 004 01.806 and then follow the Devonport Leat back onto the moor until you come out of the wood and then drop down to Betsy’s bridge. This can be made into a circular walk by crossing the bridge and returning via the forestry tracks in the wood. Parking at the above place is limited so the cache can be approached from Norsworthy Bridge instead.
We have been doing this walk for nearly 20 years and is particularly good for dogs (and children) when the weather is hot as there always plenty of water around. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
