Geocache Description:

A short walk on a good path to an interesting little waterfall on Cotter Beck, famous for the painting by Turner

The co-ordinates above are for parking and the first clue. The Yorkshire Dales National Park have constructed a level smooth path along to the waterfall, and most of the clues are very easy to find. The last clue is up the steeper path to the top of the waterfall (the end of the right of way) where Cotter Beck has cut through the rock. Collect the numbers to work out the co-ordinates of the container at N 54 degrees AB.EFG W 002 degrees AH.DCB
Above the square net wire fence at the start of the path there are "A" strands of plain wire and "G" strands of barbed wire (but this later changes).
Near the seat there is a display board. Turner visited here in 181"C" (last digit of year).
It is possible to walk round to the top of the force to see where the beck has cut through the rock, but if you don’t want a steep walk, you can guess at the value of E: Sign: Footpath ends in "E"0m.
Some clues have gone missing, so please use: B = C + E ; D = 0 ; F = G + E ; H = E + A
Substitute the letters into N 54 degrees AB.EFG W 002 degrees AH.DCB to get the co-ordinates of the cache. Check: A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H = 30
