Geocache Description:

A "gravel pit" is considered to be a large area in which one can get gravel or rocks to use for their own purposes. They are often owned by construction or landscaping companies, and generally, the only people to visit them work there. However, the "Pits" in Newfoundland have a whole different purpose to our people - they are sometimes used province wide as camping areas!! Because we are so fond of camping, and we live here on "the Rock", we decided to plant our own series of geocaches here on the Southwest coast of Newfoundland. We hope you have as much fun finding these 4 caches as we did hiding them - otherwise, our effort was just "The Pits"!!!

This is the 1st in a series of 4. Look inside the log book for partial coordinates for the BONUS cache. This cache .is a white tobacco tub, and quite an easy park & grab. Not a lot of parking unless you park at the tourist chalet.
