How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is a Devil Cache (DC) series that follows a route north from Broadmoor Bottom to the Devil's Highway in Swinley Forest. There is a multi-cache along the way that you can get on the return journey

There is roadside parking on the residential estate near the trail start waypoint (see GE!), under no circumstances stop or park on A3095!

For the most part, the route runs close to a Military Firing Range on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The Range is completely fenced off and is NOT open to the public. If you see red flags flying, the Range is active but apart from extra noise, the route for this cache series is unaffected.

Do NOT scale the fence and enter this area under any circumstances. None of the caches are located within this area despite what your GPSr may be telling you!

The path is well defined but has a few hilly sections. It can be done on a mountain bike but ensure you have good brakes and wear appropriate safety equipment.

If you do decide to cycle within Swinley Forest you need a permit costing £2 a day Click here for more info

So who doesn't like caches in the bowl of multi-trunked trees - better the devil you know, right?

This cache is placed in a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with the kind permission of The Crown Estate. As with any cache, I trust you will take care whilst you search, retrieve and replace the cache. How you act today influences the permissions in the future.
