Scouting for Caches Multi-Cache
grimaxe: This has been near and dear to my heart and a great joy. However the original hide has completely disintegrated leaving the cache in the middle of a field. Time to Archive and open up the space for other people to place new hides

This is a six stage multi-cache I have been planning for a while.
Each of the first 5 stages will tell you something about cub
scouting, and point you to the next stage. The final is an ammo
can. All stages are in the vecinity of the Boy Scout cabin at South
Park. A permit has been filed, and permission granted to place this
cache by Allegheny County Parks Dept.
The cache is not located at the Coords! You have to adjust them to start the hunt.
This Scouting multi-cache is located around the boy scout cabin at South Park. The first 5 stages are small lock-n-lock type containers. They contain information, and the coords of the next stage. The final is an ammo can. The final is reached by using information gleaned from the first five caches to slolve a puzzle/quiz.
The difficulty on this one is due to the length of the hike and the fact that you have to work through 5 stages and a puzzle/quiz. Most of the stages and the final are in rather easy hides close to a wide, but often muddy, trail. Stage 4 is likely to be the most difficult, as I had to make it far enough from the other nearby caches. Lots of thorns.
When I scouted this cache the total distance was just about a mile on the GPS odometer. Most of the stages are located close to a trail, so little bushwhacking is necessary. Parking is at the boy scout cabin, or at the nearby wild flower gardens/theatre.
The trail leads you near the final for "Muddy Shoes" so you might want to pick that one up while you are here if you haven't yet.
I am placing a little swag in each stage for those who want it. I though it would be a great way to keep the younger cachers on the hunt. Please do not trade swag at the stages, just help yourself. Because of all the work you need to do I will try to keep the swag level pretty high in the final.
The flag is a respected symbol of our country. When it has reached the end of it's life we retire it in a dignified manner. Go to the flag retirement plaza with your coords.
To get started: (adjust the posted coords for the cache, NOT the coords for the flag plaza)
Subtract the number of benches at the plaza from the Latitude, in thousandths ie. 12 benches would be .012.
Add the number of flag poles around the plaza to the Longitude, again in thousandths (6 flag poles would be .006)
The first stage is nearby, then away you go. Have fun!
Coordinates for the first three stages kept bouncing all over. The clues will get you there. Stages 4, 5 and final, the posted coordinates put me within feet of the cache every time. Updated clues 4/18, will update coords for stage three soon.
