Park and Grab hidden at a nice viewing point over the
river Suir

Description
This is one of two cable-stayed bridges in Ireland (the other
being on the M1 at Drogheda)and the 465m bridge spans the river
Suir on the N25 shaving allowing motorists to bypass Waterford city
and travel on to Regional services like Waterford (International!)
airport and Cork. At peak times it will trim a full 30minutes of
Journies between Co. Kilkenny and Cork city. The bridge has come to
be known locally as the "CAT FLAP" as it allows
Kilkenny natives access to Pairc Ui Caoimh in Cork for numerous
hurling victories without having to insult The Deise Boy's(however
many still use the old road to rub salt in their wounds)
Unfortunately to use the bridge incurs a toll (currently
€1.90) but from this viewing point can be freely appreciated.
This cache is accessible at all times but the bridge is best viewed
in the late evening/night so the sun is low over the river and the
bridge is illuminated.
Also nearby is Granny/Grannagh Castle at the minute there is no
public access to the site due to the (now complete) "ongoing
building works and provision of a public right of way" but when has
that stopped people before...The caretakers number is on the gate
and has been known to let people in to take photos before on
occasion!
