Geocache Description:

WELCOME TO THE OCATT!

'OCATT' stands for
Old
Croton
Aqueduct
Tribute
Trail

This is a tribute trail for all geocachers who live and/or geocache within the confines of Westchester County in the great state of New York! This series spans over 30 miles, from Croton’s Reservoir Dam to NYC’s High Bridge. Please read the following information to ensure a positive experience with your journey.

***************************************************************
All caches are accessible during any season and they are physically located along, but not on, the actual OCA.
***************************************************************
Each geocache in this series was placed with utmost respect to the OCA, nearby home owners, and the potential for muggles.
***************************************************************
The trail is generally a 1.5 (flat/unpaved) terrain, although the listed ratings are adjusted based on how difficult it will be once you break away from it.
***************************************************************
Should you journey the OCA in its entirety, you will be presented with a generous blend of rural, suburban, and urban developments.
***************************************************************
All containers, aside from a select few that happen to be custom fabrications, are micro test tubes. None are simply placed for all to see; every container has been handled with special care, hidden and camouflaged as a traditional geocache.
***************************************************************
If you are looking for a quick P&G numbers crunch like other mega-series runs, this isn't it.
***************************************************************
Should you find difficulty in your search, I have provided a hint to be used at your own discretion for each listing, although you are encouraged to do without it.
***************************************************************
To extract the log from each geocache container, you will need to use a pair of tweezers or needle-nose pliers.
***************************************************************
There may be thorns in some places, as well as the potential for ticks in a few others, so it is recommended to come prepared.
***************************************************************
Everything within the standard Groundspeak Disclaimer applies here.
***************************************************************
This is a very long trail with multiple parking options, so you are on your own for the most part. Depending on the listing I will do my best to advise where exactly to go, although the preferred option is to travel as much of it as you can without driving to each intersection.
***************************************************************
Be sure to check out other caches nearby this trail, as there are many that will be worth your while.
***************************************************************

GOOD LUCK

OAK426

A geocacher of the "2nd wave" (post-grandfather-era, yet pre-2007 when geocaching really took off), the seeds of this hobby were planted in July 2004 for oak426. At the time of this placement, oak426 hasn't found a cache for a few years, yet actively maintains a few great hides around this area. Oh how the mighty oak stands alive and silent amongst the sprawling change of the community. This is what brings oak426 to be mentioned with this special placement in the OCATT. To be best of my recollection, I cannot remember what type of arbor this edition was placed on, yet perhaps oak426 will come out to find this cache and keep the rest of us locals in the loop. Here's to you, oak426! A silent sentry standing in the middle of rising development for all to see. Thanks!
