Geocache Description:

April 13th is a special date. Many great things happened on this day -- far too many to list them all. But I have listed some highlights:

  • 1111 – Henry V is crowned Holy Roman Emperor. 1204 – Constantinople falls to the Crusaders of the Fourth Crusade, temporarily ending the Byzantine Empire.
  • 1743 – Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the United States (d. 1826)
  • 1796 – The first elephant ever seen in the United States arrives from India.
  • 1849 – Hungary becomes more than a feeling – it becomes a republic.
  • 1870 – The Metropolitan Museum of Art founded.
  • 1902 – James C. Penney opens his first store in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
  • 1943 – The Jefferson Memorial is dedicated in Washington, D.C., on the 200th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's birth.
  • 1970 – An oxygen tank aboard Apollo 13 explodes, putting the crew in great danger and causing major damage to the spacecraft while en route to the Moon.
  • 1976 – The United States Treasury Department reintroduced the two-dollar bill as a Federal Reserve Note on Thomas Jefferson's 233rd birthday as part of the United States Bicentennial celebration.
  • 1997 – Tiger Woods becomes the youngest golfer to win The Masters Tournament.
  • 2009 – Citi Field opens to almost 44,000 people in a game lost by the New York Mets 6-5 to the San Diego Padres.

    But what really makes April 13th special is this cache being placed for no muggle, who needs a find for today. And with any luck, this will be her #5,000!

    You're looking for large Berty container (not a Berty tube). This cache is great for a quick caching fix when you need it.
