Geocache Description:

[pl] Niewielki park u podnóza Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego

[en] A small park at the foot of the Warsaw University

[pl] [O Parku]

W 1809 roku Szkola Lekarska zalozyla tutaj ogród botaniczny, którego czestym gosciem byl mieszkajacy w poblizu Fryderyk Chopin. Ogród byl starannie utrzymywany. W okresie miedzywojennym istnial tu ogród farmakognostyczny, a czesc terenów zostala zabudowana.

Park we wspólczesnym ksztalcie powstal w latach 60. XX wieku. Wspólczesnie planowana jest jego rewitalizacja wedlug projektu Grzegorza Chodkowskiego, Przemyslawa Wolskiego i Rafala Mroczkowskiego. Wyremontowane zostana chodniki, które wylozone zostana zwirem i przykryty "tunelami" z bluszczu. Posadzone zostana nowe drzewa oraz utworzona zostanie kaskada splywajaca do oczka wodnego. Park zostanie ogrodzony, otwarty bedzie jedynie w dzien.

[Skrzynka] Niewielkie pudeleczko, zostalo ukryte w jednym z drzew rosnacych nieopodal skarpy.

[en] [About park] Casimir Park is a public park in Powisle, situated on the banks of the Vistula and at its foot, between the streets Obozna, Browarna and Karowa. It occupies an area of about 4 hectares.
His name is linked to the Kazimierz Palace. located above the slope,.

In the seventeenth century in this place, there were gardens and a menagerie Kazimierz Palace. Here was full of different caves, fountains, gazebos and statues. After its destruction during the Swedish invasion Garden was renewed in the years 1728-1731, but after taking it for the Knights' School in 1765, remained undeveloped. In 1809 the Medical School founded here a botanical garden, which a frequent visitor, was Frederic Chopin. who lived nearby.
The garden was carefully tended. In the interwar period there was a pharmacognostic garden, and some areas have been developed.

Park in the modern form was created in the '60s Twentieth century. Today, it is planned redevelopment project by Gregory Chodkowskiego, Przemyslaw Wolski and Raphael Mroczkowski. Will be renovated walkways that are lined with gravel and covered "tunnels" with ivy. New trees will be planted and will create a cascade of flowing to the pond. Park will be fenced and will be open only during the day.

The advantage of the park is an interesting topography linked to the Vistula escarpment and many species of trees, dominated by lime trees and maples. There is also a small pond and a modern playground for children. In the park there is a statue of the Privy Teacher Organization, and from the street Obozna, at the stairs, antique cabinet source.

[Cache] Small box, was hidden in a hollow in tree growing near slope.

I recommend searching in the afternoon or early morning when there are not too many students coming down on Powisle, from the main campus.
