This area was where my family used to spend a lot of time; fishing, hunting, hiking, picnicking, backpacking, and anything else we could think of. At that time you were allowed to drive about half a mile down where the trail is now. Near the parking area there was a long steel deck bridge that we played under. It was fun to watch traffic go over our heads. I remember standing on the bridge and looking down below. You could feel the bridge sway every time a vehicle drove over it. It was a weird feeling.
