Geocache Description:

BYOP and possibly LED

Cache number 12 inspired by a list of 100 must-read novels I discovered a couple of years ago. It is not necessary to have read the book to find the cache. There is something about the location that makes me think of the novel. In fact, the first time I saw this bridge, I just had to play Pooh Sticks :)

In A.A.Milne’s Winnie the Pooh stories, Christopher Robin and friends play a game of “Pooh Sticks” by dropping a stick off a bridge into a stream, then rushing to the other side of the bridge to see whose stick emerges first. I’m sure many of us played this game as children, whether or not we called it ‘Pooh Sticks’. Take a few minutes to play this innocent game here, either before or after looking for the cache.

Growing up in England, these stories were popular childhood favorites, but little known this side of the Atlantic until they got the Disney treatment.

Be sure to check out the other caches in The Hundred Acre Wood -- I mean, Memorial Park.

Congratulations to KoolAidWino on another FTF... I just knew it was going to be you ;)

Please be sure to tuck it back into its hidey-hole -- it wedges in nicely so it isn't easily spotted from afar.

Thanks to Dark Jazz for alerting me to the new landmark near the cache - the literary reference was the city's handiwork, not mine :/
