Základní údaje
Vetrná elektrárna na okraji obce Nová Ves v Horách má 7 turbín o celkovém výkonu 13 MW. Instalována byla v roce 2003 a rocne dodává témer 26 GWh.

Basic information
Wind power plant on the edge of village of Nová Ves v Horách is built up of 7 turbines having total output of 13 MW. It was installed in 2003 and it delivers about 26 GWh yearly.

Teorie vetrné elektrárny
Vetrné elektrárny využívají síly vetru k roztocení vrtule (vetrné turbíny). K ní je pak pripojen elektrický generátor. Proudící vzduch predává lopatkám vetrné elektrárny cást své kinetické energie. Maximální teoretická úcinnost vetrného stroje ciní 59%. Aby mohla být energie vetru využita, musí rychlost lopatek mnohonásobne prevyšovat rychlost vetru. Pritom platí pravidlo, že cím méne je lopatek, tím rychleji se rotor otácí. Proto mívají tyto vetrné stanice pouze jedno, dve nebo tri krídla. Vetrné elektrárny jsou také zdrojem nežádoucího hluku vcetne infrazvuku, který dosahuje až 70 dB.

Wind Power Plant Theory
Wind power plants use power of wind to spin the propeller (wind turbine) connected to the electric generator. Flowing air gives part of its kinetic energy to blades. Maximal theoretical efficiency of the wind machine is 59%. To utilize the wind power, the blades must be several times faster than the wind. The less blades, the higher is the rotor's speed. This is the reason why there are 1, 2 or 3 blades on a station. Wind power plants also emit unwanted noise including infrasound, which can reach up to 70 dB.
