Join us anytime from 12:00 Noon to 6 PM at our setup overlooking Kinzua Beach at the beautiful Allegheny Reservoir for some fun and geocaching with a few of your closest friends. We have picked this date and time to highlight one of Kinzua Country's newest recreational assets-the Kinzua Beach to RimRock Overlook Trail. In honor of this new trail the Forest Service has granted approval to have a new permanent cache placed along the trail and for a variety of temporary caches to be placed within the recreation area for the event.
We would also like to provide an opportunity for local geocachers to get together one month before the big GeoWoodstock event to discuss plans for the big event as well as provide you some help in sprucing up your local caches for the onslaught of geocachers that will be finding your caches as they come for Geowoodstock. We will be attempting to provide some help with some supplies you might find useful in improving existing caches or placing some new ones.
The event is structured so that you can come for a few hours of caching fun and get together for a brief discussion of GeoWoodstock activities at 3 pm. You can either cache before the 3:00 pm program or afterwards. A limited number of free souvenirs will be provided by the Pennsylvania Kinzua Pathways Group and if you are hungry, food will be available for purchase from vendors on site . There will also be some door prizes available for a few lucky winners at the 5:00 pm drawing (must be present to win) and a travel bug exchange.
Come join us for the fun! Bring a canoe or kayak with you if you like-it might come in handy.
