A Palindrome Day

Palindromes have fascinated me for quite a number of years ever since a colleague at work pointed out that the day we were on at the time was a partial palindrome (missing some some digits out e.g. 19.11.91). When I realised that we were fast approaching the last true palindrome for a number of years I decided that I wanted to celebrate it in some way and what better than a nice little puzzle?
A palindrome is a number, word, phrase, or any other sequence of units that can be read the same way in either direction. There are generally allowances made for slight adjustments to the punctuation and word letter or number dividers to make it read correctly. One of the best examples of a palindrome in common use is LOL, that favourite term used within text speak, although it is an abbreviation so not a true palindrome to a purist.
A true palindrome is one without abbreviations of which “level” is one that springs to mind. “Madam” is another, which leads into an example of a palindrome short sentence; “Madam, I'm Adam!” in this case you will notice that the punctuation makes it a more plausible statement when reading it forwards.
There are “word palindromes” with an example being: “King! Are you glad you are King?” in which all the words reversed are the same but for me they are quite frankly pathetic and not worthy of any note.
The actual word “palindrome” is derived from the Greek “palíndromos”; meaning running back again (“palín” which translates to “again” and “drom” or “drameîn” translates to “run”). So a palindrome is a word or phrase which reads the same in both directions.
This will be the last true palindrome day until 2020 so enjoy it while you can, in closing here are a couple of examples:
Q: What is a Pirates favourite palindrome?
A: “Murder for a jar of red rum.”
But in hind sight the teams favorite would be:
"Step on no pets”
Especially after wayward decided to suddenly cut across to go “over there” when we were heading off to set the cache and accidentally got a paw stood on, there was a yelp but no permanent damage thankfully so all is OK.
LOL!
I hope you enjoy.
Cheers
Schnuz.
You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.
The puzzle didn't quite work out perfectly but rather than try to re do it all again I decided to add a bit of a fudge factor, so when you get a geochecker success add 0.005 to both the north and the west coord's.
