"Don't tread on me" was the motto of Philadelphia Marines, who were the first to enlist into the newly established United States Navy in the fall of 1775. A yellow flag with the motto and a coiled timber rattlesnake hung from the flagship when it went into battle against the British. Considered one of the first flags of the United States, the flag was later replaced by the current Stars and Stripes.
Although rattlesnakes are scarce, there's dog mines, goose droppings and other evil things you don't want to tread on while searching for this cache. Other than that, the cache is located on a pleasant stretch of the Wissahickon Green Ribbon Trail. No bushwhacking or leaving the main trail is required! BYOP
