Inning #6: “The Bad News Bears” is one in a series of caches to be released this Spring. Each week one cache will be released each Saturday somewhere along the highway 78 corridor, in or between Oceanside and Escondido. Each week the FTF for that particular cache will be awarded a home run (4 bases), the 2nd to find a triple (3 bases), the 3rd to find a double (2 bases) and the 4th to find a single (1 base). Bases will accumulate and whoever has the most will be crowned the World Series Champion. What do they win? My admiration (unless I come across some prizes to dole out).

Logs should be clear as to who is first, second, third, and fourth to find otherwise The Commissioner will have to simply award bases on his best judgment.

This season The Commissioner honors the greatest baseball films. Inning #6 is in honor of the 1976 release "The Bad News Bears".

First of a trilogy of films takes an unflinching look at the underbelly of little league baseball in Southern California. Former minor leaguer Morris Buttermaker is a lazy, beer swilling swimming pool cleaner who takes money to coach the Bears, a bunch of disheveled misfits who have virtually no baseball talent. Realizing his dilemma, Coach Buttermaker brings aboard girl pitching ace Amanda Whurlizer, the daughter of a former girlfriend, and Kelly Leak, a motorcycle punk who happens to be the best player around.
