When I hid a couple caches on this trail last year, I thought about what might be way "up there". Well, now this cache is way "up there".
The view at this cache location is very fine. You will have a great view of the fire burn area from the Buffalo Creek Fire in May of 1996. You will also see three prominent peaks. From right to left, they are Raleigh Peak, Long Scraggy Peak and of course to the south, you can take a peek at Pike's Peak.
The hike starts at the trailhead at 6116 feet and this cache is at 7223 feet. It will take a while to get there. It's only .58 mile from the trailhead as the crow flies but 2.5 miles as the trail goes (one way - all uphill).
I used a mountain bike to get to this location. I found that the ride was More Fun Going Down.
This cache is a small regular hidden under some rocks
