Geocache Description:

A short series named after a popular 19th Century fairy tale that most people will know. This story has had at least three incarnations with the three bears being the only constant characters.

This is a micro hidden at Durford Brige, over the river Rother. Can be done as a cache and dash as there is parking within 25 yards of the bridge on the Southern side of the river. Bearing in mind the Ancient monument status of the bridge this cache is not hidden in/on or among the stonework.

Durford Bridge, also known as Maidenmarsh bridge, was originally built by the monks of the nearby Durford Abbey in the 15th century, and it is a registered ancient monument, which seems somewhat incongruous considering the number of 20 tonne lorries crossing it every day to get to the nearby quarry. It's still going strong in the 21st century, despite showing the scars of the modern day traffic. If the river isn't in swell it's possible to get down to the Southern most arch and walk under the bridge and have a good look at it's stonework construction.
