Geocache Description:

This journey will show you where we are today as well as where we came from.

The Gatlinburg Fire Department as well as all fire departments are steeped in tradition. The fire service is a brotherhood of firefighters. We never forget our past. The coordinates listed will take you to what we have today. Their you will find a plaque with two years listed on it. Record both of these years as you will need them to find the coordinates for the cache. Here we go:

To find the latitude: First year on plaque - (minus) 1,444 = ?

Enter this 3 digit number onto the end of N35.43.xxx

Longitude: Second year on plaque - (minus) 1,279 = ?

Enter this 3 digit number onto the end of W83.28.xxx

Once you arrive take a moment to read, learn, and reflect. The cache is well hidden. The cache is a small black canister with a flip top lid. BYOP please. Feel free to pop in and say hello after you have located and replaced the cache. Watch out for muggles as this is a very PUBLIC location. Happy hunting!!!
