This cache has been archived.

Z_Malloc: I went back and this area has deteriorated a lot more since I put this cache out. I am going to remove it rather than fix it. :(

Geocache Description:

This is my second hide in a series that will highlight some of Houston's more unusual things to see. This hide is situated at the end of a short walk from the end of the road that will lead you to two large brick smokestacks.

These smokestacks are all that remains from some building that has long, long, long since been demolished. I think it may have once been a City of Houston trash incinerator facility, but I only heard that as a whispered rumor. The smokestacks are slowly being reclaimed by the heavy vegetation that is growing there.

This East End neighborhood just east of downtown Houston is heavily industrial with metal plating facilities, train tracks, and other things to support shipping of materials overland by boat and train.

There is a path that leads off to the left from the road into the bush. It goes all the way to the Hike and Bike Trail that runs along Buffalo Bayou to the north.

Don't drive too far down the road as there is quite a bit of trash and stuff that has been dumped there over time. The cache is very close to the smokestacks.

FTF gets a cool uniform patch that I bet you have never seen before!
