Inglés

The Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar is a Catalan gothic church in Barcelona, located in the Barrio de la Ribera and was built between 1329 and 1383. Its construction was financed by the wealthy merchants of the neighborhood and the labour of the neighborhood residents and fishermen in the area. The walls, the side chapels and the façades were finished in 1350. In 1379 a fire damaged important parts of the works. Finally, on 3 November 1383 the last stone was laid and on 15 August 1384 the church was consecrated. In 1428 an earthquake caused several casualties and destroyed the rose window in the west end. The images and the Baroque altar were destroyed in a fire in 1936. The chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, adjacent to the apse, was added in the 19th century.

To find out the final coordinates you must obtain some data:

1 How many gargoyle heads can you count on the main facade? = A

2 How many human figures (excluding the angels) can you count on the main facade? Don't forget those on the doors. = B

3 How many entrances does the basilica have? = C

4 Beside one of the entrances there is a metal plate on the wall, naming a date (the plate text begins with the word ESGLESIA - see photo) - take the mentioned numbers as D-E-FGHI

5 Of how many sides does each of the two church towers consist? (even number) = J

The formula for the final coordinates is the following:

41º (H-I) A. (B-C-A) E J

02 (F+G). B C (D+I)

Note: The signal at the final is not very good - the spoiler photo can help you.

some works can not see the plate so temporarily attached data
