Goodbye, Mint Springs Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

amydroyalty: As sad as it makes me to do this, I'm going to have to archive this one. Construction has wiped out the cache area. This really is "Goodbye, Mint Springs" for good.

Geocache Description:

For many years Mint Spring Stables operated on this horse farm. The cache is a micro accessible from a parking turnout along Chamberlain Lane.

Mint Spring Stables, operated by Carol Rudloff, offered an entry point to new young riders. It all began so innocently..."Mommy, can I take horseback riding lessons?" Carol's school ponies were talented enough to win the occasional hunter show, thus supplying blue ribbons which served as a "gateway drug" to horse ownership and equine-induced impoverishment. Holly, Livy, Omen, Rascal, Bits, Spanky, and Mr. Little are all gone now. Knowing that Mint Springs closed last year upon Carol's retirement, I went to place this cache with a heavy heart, expecting the developers' bulldozers to be champing at the bit.

Imagine my delighted surprise when I found that a new operator, Tiffany Greer, has reopened the stables as Honeysuckle Stables. Let the equine tradition continue!
