Geocache Description:

Cache is located at Moygara Castle located a few miles from Gurteen, Co. Sligo. Parking available at entry gate.

Watch your step while walking in the ruins of the castle and be aware that cows are sometimes in the field.

ABOUT THE CACHE:

Moygara Castle was the centre for the late medieval O'Gara Lordship of Coolavin, during the late 16th or early 17th century. It consists of a large square bawn, which has a residential tower, each slightly angled in shape. A gatehouse occurs along its Western side. The historical evidence and field remains at the site, however, suggest that an earlier tower house, whose foundations are still visible, existed along the Northern side of the bawn wall.

The cache is a small plastic box and contains a logbook and pencil.

FINDING THE CACHE:

Go to the co-ordinates. Let X equal the number of complete windows with arches and Y equal the number of towers in the Castle.
