Geocache Description:

A nice hike, scenic lake and mountain views, and an all-around fun time await...

This cache is located inside Stone Mountain Park. There is a $10 entry fee for vehicles. Folks on bikes or on foot can enter for free.

Though this cache can be hunted (just about) as a park-n-grab, the spirit in which it was placed encompasses a more leisurely and scenic experience and so I will describe it as such...

Parking:
Though there are certainly many places to park in the area and many ways to access this cache, I recommend parking here: N 33 47.909, W 084 08.343

Description:
From the parking area, you will cross the road, head down hill, and venture across a spit of land that seperates Venable Lake from Stone Mountain Lake. From there it's a nice hike along the water's edge all the way to the cache. Be sure to check out the great views of the southern side of Stone Mountain. You'll also pass a cool little cascading water feature and will have a nice view of the covered bridge in the distance. When you're near the cache, you'll be basically under the shadow of the Marriott Resort.

Difficulty:
The hike should take anywhere from 15-30 minutes (one-way) depending on your motivation and/or site-seeing stops. The terrain rating of 2.5 merely reflects the length of the hike as opposed to truly difficult hiking. Kids will love it, but strollers won't...

The cache is a brown lock-n-lock container (a bit bigger than the sandwich sized ones).

Initial contents:
$5 Wal-Mart gift card, toy badges, glow sticks, drink cozy, small camp trowel, mini 1st aid kit, bug wipes, log book, pens.
