Geocache Description:

Llyn y Dywarchen in Gwynedd is a Lake, just north-west of the village of Rhyd Ddu. It has an area of 40 acres. There are many stories about the lake here. He noted Gerald on his journey through Wales in 1188 as an island floating on the lake, and can move here and there. Later, this was confirmed by a number of passengers, including Thomas Pennant in 1786 and Ward in 1931. It is not there now, but I suppose that part of the bank was broken off. This island should not be a confused floating island but a permanent middle of the lake. Another story, reported for several other lakes too, was to see young shepherd girl fairies dancing on the lake shore. At one time there was a stream flowing from the lake westward along the Nantlle Valley , but since the dam was built a stream flowing down to the Lake of the Chair and Gwyrfai River .

The cache is a small size Tupperware box with log and a few items. Please be careful on the way to GZ with young children as it can be very boggy and wet at times.
