Geocache Description:

WWFM VIII is the eighth Worldwide Flash Mob event, a simultaneous collection of fifteen-minute events at different spots on the earth set to happen at 10 a.m. PDT on June 4, 2011.
Our New Mexico event will be from 11:00-11:15 a.m. in Albuquerque's Old Town Plaza.

There are currently (May 26) 214 events scheduled in 24 countries for this date.

The Basic Idea: A 'flash mob' is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief period of time, then quickly disperse.
This year, we will once again do a giant "freeze". Here's a video of what I hope this will look like: (visit link)

You must follow the guidelines below in order to claim an "attended" log.

Keep your eye on me, so that the group is perfectly synchronized.

10:30 - 10:59 a.m.: Arrive, find a parking spot, and stroll around the area. DO NOT gather together or mingle with one another--it must look as tho' we are there randomly.
J.A.R. is planning a pre-Flash Mob event nearby, so that will make it easier to be there on time and to ask any questions. This is also the venue for the required photo of the participants! See (visit link) for more info.

11:00 to 11:03 a.m.: A bucket will be placed near me; approach and get your "log page" from the bucket. Then go off and stroll around in the general vicinity. Turn off your cell phones. Sign your log page during the next few minutes, when you have the chance!

At exactly 11:05 a.m.: Freeze in an action position! You must remain perfectly still for 5 minutes.
It will be VERY, VERY DIFFICULT to hold action poses for 5 minutes. Please practice a pose you can hold before the event!

11:10: Unfreeze, and approach me to place your log page in the bucket.

11:15: LEAVE the area. Please do not socialize.
If you weren't on time to pick up your log page or if you don't turn it back in, then I'm sorry, but you've missed the event.

I'm sure there will be several muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the fun!)

[Please think about an active pose--if you're sitting and reading, or just standing there, no one will realize that you're "frozen"!
