The cache is located at 2169m.



  English   Big Koupen is one of the most difficult for climbing peaks in Stara Planina Mountain. The peak is 2169 m. high, and it's part of peak traverse "Ambaritsa (Levski) - Botev Peak". His rocky cone emerges from neighboring peaks - Malak Kupen(Small Koupen) at west and Krustcite - at east. The main route passing through the top, is secured by rails from east and west. At the very top there is a metal box with a notebook in which you can write your name and impressions about the climb. In a small valley between the peaks of Small and Large Kupen, is the only lake in Stara Planina mountains - "The Puddle". Its water is usually stagnant and not good for drinking.

Връх Голям Купен е смятан за най-трудния за изкачване връх в Стара планина. Висок 2169 м., той е част от известния алпийски траверс вр. Амбарица (Левски) - вр. Ботев. Острият му и скалист конус изпъква спрямо съседните върхове - Малък Купен на запад и Кръстците на изток. Главният маршрут преминаващ през върха, е обезопасен с парапети от изток и запад. На самия връх има метална кутия с тетрадка, в която може да запишете името си и впечатленията от изкачването. В малката котловина между върховете Малък и Голям Купен, се намира единственото Старопланинско езеро - Локвата. Водата му обикновенно е застояла и не е добра за пиене.
