Geocache Description:

This is the 1st of an ambitious series of caches to be hidden along CA's Historic Highway 80 from San Diego to the AZ border. Find this and you will be introduced to Native America land. FTF gets the $1 bill dated the year of the historic designation. Have fun travelling this old stretch of road discovering the hidden treasures along the way. Update: Congrats to Duncan for FTF!

Update: Feb. 2012 - Some misguided individual decided to empty the contents of this cache. We lost it all, including some TB items. The log has been replaced and we are in the process of adding more cool stuff. This cache will be back to its original glory soon. Until then, please visit and sign. We appreciate your efforts! Cache is a 10" x 7 " container with log book, SWAG, stickers and info and a map of Historic Highway 80. Don't worry about mugglers, just go ahead a look all around- no one's watching! The Kumeyaay were the original native inhabitants of San Diego County and have lived in this region for more than 10,000 years. Historically, the Kumeyaay were horticulturists, hunters and gatherers. They were the only Yuman group in the area and were the people who greeted the Spanish when they first sailed into San Diego Harbor with the Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo expedition of 1542. This cache has been placed on Tribal Land with permission.
