Geocache Description:

This fieldstone dam water impoundment is the water source for a hand dug sluiceway that supplied water to the Evans' sawmill site.

Follow the directions to the Evans' sawmill site cache (GC2JGJN), then bushwhack on the upper hill side of the sluiceway to the cache; or follow the directions to the hand cut granite cache (GC2JGHR), then bushwhack to the cache. Besides your GPS bring a compass in case your batteries go dead. (To use a compass, use the boy scout saying, "put red in the shed, then follow Fred"). (From the millpond cache to the Evans' sawmill site its 346 deg. (magnetic). From the millpond cache to the hand cut granite cache it's 015 deg.(magnetic). rewards: you might be lucky enough to see deer, moose, turkeys, ducks, geese, occasional Great Blue Heron at the pond area.
